The Annual Science and Shapeshifters Dance - 10/21/2015 10:26amThanks to everyone who participated in the Annual Science and Shapeshifters Dance last weekend. Spirits were certainly running high after our tremendous win over Mystic High at the Mayan Mind Wrestling match!
The school would also like to thank @
Pearline for helping to bring the demon Stanley Floyd to justice. The school is unable to discuss its long-term relationship with the demon Stanley Floyd as it is our policy not to discuss ongoing investigations.
And how about those "beats?" We were blessed to have the artistic retro-Soviet genetic disco patterns provided by @
Gene Sequins, taking a break from the festival circuit in Eastern Europe. We've been unable to locate Gene following the dance, so if anyone sees him, please let him know that his check is waiting for him in the administration building.
Sincerely,
Big Jim

The Annual Science and Shapeshifters Dance - 10/13/2015 1:21pmIt's time for the annual Science and Shapeshifters Dance!
This Friday night at 7pm - directly following the Mayan Mind Wrestling match with Mystic High - we'll be holding our annual Science and Shapeshifters Dance in the cafeteria.
Music will be generously provided by our very own @
Gene Sequins, bringing his special brand of Psychogenetic EDM Disco to our school, right on the heels of his latest Eastern European tour. Gene says he picked up some recently unearthed Soviet-era technology while he was away - including an Iron Torrent Semiconductor that's sure to get us "moving."
Nutrient solution will be supplied by @
Neuman Grange and his New Machine crew. Decorations and social media will be handled by @
Pearline - so if you'd like to help out, give her a shout!
Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Advice From a Friend - 9/21/2015 1:14pm
I'm always thrilled when students reach out to help one another at Psyhigh.
Which is why I'm especially pleased to announce the creation of our student mentorship and tutoring program. We're still working on a name for this group, but current possibilities include:
PSYBUDDIES
Star Friends
MORMO
Societas Luci
If you've got an idea for a name for this wonderful new organization, let us know!
And, if you're looking for a student mentor/tutor of your own, please speak to our very first mentor/tutor @
Trinket. You can get in touch with her by tinkling a tiny bell and dancing in the moonlight, dropping by the Student Activities Office in the manor house and making an appointment, or just posting to your journal here.
Sincerely,
Big Jim

Welcome! - 9/17/2015 3:24pmAttention all new students!
You may be experiencing some disorientation during your first week on campus. If you find yourself experiencing vertigo, time dilation, buyer's remorse, or semaphore, just find one of the many Action Stations located throughout campus and place both hands on the large blue gem on the control panel. Soon, you will receive calming instructions, maps and directions, class schedules, cafeteria menus, stock data, racing numbers, weather reports, best friend's thoughts, and olfactory memory implantation to make your transition to campus life more seamless.
Another great way to get to know the school is to join @
Randy Bernstein for his weekly Intramural Flying Club Meetup each Saturday in Mr. Lu's apple orchard at 11am. Dress appropriately!
And enjoy your term at Psyhigh.
Sincerely,
Big Jim

The Orientation Effect - 8/18/2015 6:32pmIf you can't find the orientation packet, @
Kandie, you can build what you need with equipment you already have.
1) Turn Crown counterclockwise until you no longer feel pressure. Note that Crown can be pulled out.
2) If curiosity leads you to look under the hood, feel free to explore but be very careful not to damage any of its parts. No need to reshuffle.
3) The widths of all the spark gaps will need to be carefully adjusted for optimum performance. The proper width for a spark gap will depend on the electrode size, shape and surface finish. Other factors like humidity and air pressure will also affect the proper gap width.
Once everything's in place, the date will change gradually between 9:00 P.M. and 4:00 A.M. Therefore, do not change your calendar during this time period, otherwise you may not land properly. If it is necessary to set your calendar during that time period, first change the time to any timeline outside it (in relative space), then set the calendar and then reset the correct time.
Caution: sometimes creating art magnetism will make your eyes water. If you think turn first, it will push out. Dream widths are peculiarly transcendent during the curiosity water stage. Make sure to account for adjusted forms!
The Orientation Effect - 8/18/2015 1:56pmAll new students receive orientation packets in their "dream holes," or other official delivery perforations in their oneirological membrane. If you haven't found yours, @
Kandie, you might want to try your backdoor or down around the side of your porch.

Calling All Ghosts - 8/15/2015 8:28pmAs the Student Activities Coordinator I am not in a position to represent the school officially in legal matters, but I can assure you I have left a number of voice messages for the Dean on this issue.
As you know, the Dean is on his summer sabbatical at the Unincorporated Eco-Villages of Thai Ornament, in sunny Boca Raton, FL, and has been unreachable due to the heavy psychic shielding he uses while on vacation. Unfortunately the emergency phone contact numbers he has left have apparently been disconnected or are no longer in service. While one of them does answer, there seems to be a language barrier but they have assured me it is a wrong number. The handwritten note he left is rather indiscernible (we all know about the Dean's handwriting!) but we're continuing to try all other combinations for nines that look like fours and other possible misreadings we've been giving it.
In the meantime, the school asks that students continue to express their opinions peacefully (as is their right) and I'm sure this will all be cleared up quite soon.
We assure the students that the administration is taking this issue quite seriously, and thank the students for their patience in this matter.

Darkness - 5/16/2015 12:14amThe Heart of Spring has been recovered!
While the Bees and Beekeepers Spring Formal is indeed a gala affair, we must remember the true meaning of the dance - the Waggle Dance, that is.
This year's Head Beekeeper, @
Jessica Moon, did a splendid job in leading the Waggle Dance, and I'm sure I speak for the entire school when we extend our heartfelt compassion for the trouble she's endured since.
However, after reviewing the tapes, the school's Waggle Dance experts were able to interpret the subtle moves of Jessica's Waggle Dance (and the ensuing Waggle Dance of the student body in attendance) and very accurately determine the location of The Heart of Spring for this year.
A recovery team was sent - helicopters, spelunkers, etheric removal experts, etc. - and after carefully examining the location (and taking full measure of psychogeographic regulations into account) were able to extract The Heart of Spring, transfer it to its ritual palanquin, and return it to the school.
As our older students know, The Heart of Spring is no mere bauble, but a vital piece of the Uber-Psyche of not only the school but the entire extra-sensory network that Psyhigh is situated upon. Each year its use is given deep and careful thought.
Which is why this year, The Heart of Spring has been delivered to @
Jessica Moon - or, more accurately, her close friend @
Scilph - in hopes that its presence and proximity to @
Jessica Moon will help speed her recovery from her unfortunate situation.
I would like all students to consider The Heart of Spring and what it represents, and use it as a conduit to send their most positive energies through to aid in @
Jessica Moon's recovery.
Yours in the Great Waggle Dance,
Big Jim

The Bees and Beekeepers Spring Formal - 5/2/2015 2:47pmTo kick off tonight's Bees and Beekeepers dance, the Parade of the Insects begins in the Stinky Flower Garden at 3pm. It will wind its way to Nectaries Observatory, where the insects will begin the ritual encasement of the building in their webs, egg masses, silk, grasshopper tobacco, bits of stick and mud and dung, and spit.
We'll cut our way through the pan-insect cocoon at 7:30 and open the doors for students. Promptly at 8pm, Head Beekeeper @
Jessica Moon will begin the Waggle Dance, surrounded by her Bee Court (Who has Jessica selected for her court? We can't wait to find out!). Students will then interpret the moves in Jessica's Waggle Dance and join in. The dance will be recorded and studied by our Waggle Dance experts who will then be able to determine the position of The Heart of Spring for this year.
Also at tonight's dance will be a special recognition of May's Student of the Month - @
Scilph! So if you haven't had time to congratulate her in person, tonight will be a great time.
Musical guests tonight will be The Crickets - courtesy of the Psychic Necromusicology Department. They've begun the summoning rituals now and the band should be fully corporeal in time for the Waggle Dance.
Looking forward to a fabulous night! See you all there!
