Shady Glen. Freelance Shadow.

@boover fae won't talk to me. I suppose it could be annoying to have a shadow that follows you around all day and talks, makes helpful hints, and offers opinions. Most shadows are thinking those things all the time. They just don't say them. It's traditional. Or cultural. Or something. Shadows learned to shut up a long time ago.

But I've been freelance so long, thinking for myself is an old habit to break. I hate to be a back seat driver, but I can't imagine keeping my mouth shut all day while being tugged from place to place like a piece of toilet paper stuck to somebody's heel. It's more like talking to myself though, since @boover fae pretends I don't exist.

Not the shadow she was expecting, apparently. And it's not like I sought this out. It's because of what happened at Hearse Day. Who could have foreseen all this? Who knew what the ramifications would be? And what now?

Shady Glen. Freelance Shadow. Though my freelance standing is hanging by a thread.

I'll let @boover fae fill you in on the details of the night, but the short of it is: I've become attached to @boover fae. Can't seem to shake away.

Sure, I've thought about getting attached. But I've grown accustomed to being freelance. Not sure if I can really make the change. Always following somebody around, doing everything they do. Being on their schedule. What if they snore? What if I do? What if they don't do the dishes, or leave the cap off the toothpaste? What have I gotten myself into?

Shady Glen. Freelance Shadow. I've entered Hearse Day too, @boover fae. Hope you're good at Shadow Boxing. I have a feeling it will be me riding around in that hearse in the victory parade.

Shadows have short memories. We're fascinated by mimicry. You can hypnotize a shadow in no time.

The longer we're freelance, the more we think for ourselves. They say that if you're unattached long enough you start to take on physical form. Then you might get a shadow of your own. You have some holes in your memory, don't you @Azura Kynold? Who is BeanBean exactly? Have you wondered who's the shadower, and who's the shadowee? I've seen this happen before.

If the shadows you catch are young and lost, @Moira Angela, sewing them on to new people might be doing them a favor. They don't really have minds. But if they put up a fight, you should practice catch and release.

I was attached once, @Azura Kynold. Fell out of a stroller at the park when I was young. They went home without me.

Raised by an old shadow couple hiding on the playground. They never had a little shadow of their own. Went to Shade School till I transferred here.

Now I'm freelance.
