Golly! So i guess this is Psychic High's virtual platform? My first day at school was just lovely, and although there's a lot of differences to the high school i used to go to (Violet Rock High for any of you who wish to know), such as the vastly larger campus, and the sheer amount of kids here, I'm finding it all really welcoming.
Also, the dorms are super cosy, i mean, VRH didn't really have dorm rooms, but the ones here are better than i expected! I'm over in block C of the woodland dorms, it's so sweet of the school to provide little habitat-themed spaces like that to remind us of home!

Anyway, i guess i should introduce myself. I'm Kayla May, but people call me doodle or kay too. I love botany, writing, and and analogue sound synthesis! If there are any bands around who need someone to play keys/pads/synth hmu in a post, or just approach me at school sometime: i like to think i'm kinda good at making noises.

I've enrolled in a course in arcane music technology, non-euclidean cartography, and creative incantation writing, aside from the core subjects. I've not explored all the club options so far yet but some of the environmental preservation projects going on sound interesting. Anyway, if any of you are still reading about now, after my lengthy spiel, thank you much! See you around!!

During reading @Fawn 's heartwarming popsicle stick story, I imagined that feeling when licking the last bit of a popsicle. You know, like when the popsicle is mostly gone, and the vast majority of lick is tongue-to-stick contact rather than the more desirable tongue-to-popsicle kind; that rough grainy wooden texture is very unnerving, i can't stand it!

It's just a little pet peeve of mine that I remembered. Why hasn't someone made a popsicle where my tongue doesn't have to stroke something that feels so unpleasant? Maybe i should design a prototype myself. How about a glass stick? It would feel less strange, but it would be far too hazardous: what if it smashed? Glass isn't very environmentally friendly either. Soapstone could work, but it would be a bit of a hassle carving every individual popsicle stick into a smooth popsicle-suitable shape, not to mention the little jokes or riddles on the sides!

To anybody who studies something to do with the popsicle industry: I'd greatly appreciate it if you were to consider making a contribution to my ideas. Working together, we could make the world's best popsicle stick one day!

Much thanks, and best wishes.

Hm, thank you for your proposal Raine! At first i had thought that a floating popsicle would be a brilliant idea, however i have just realised, wouldn't that make it just a floating ice block? Could you even call a stick-less popsicle a popsicle? Unfortunately, i believe the general consensus is that a popsicle is a linguistic variation of "ice lolly" which is described by the Oxford english dictionary as: "A confection, in the form of a piece of flavoured ice, or ice cream on a stick". And even if a stick were not a prerequisite for a popsicle, where would you write the joke on a levitating lolly?!

Of course, your floating frozen food idea could be used for other applications! It would be especially useful for handling the liquid nitrogen cooled ice-slushies from the canteen slushie machine; i've already seen a nasty freeze-burn from those blighters!

I've been thinking more about potential practical popsicle piece materials, but i really cannot come up with anything that fills the criteria i've created. I'll update when my thought train reaches it's next metaphorical destination.

Keep dreaming! (if you wish!)

Today at school was pretty interesting. I received my first non-euclidean cartography assignment: i've got to map out the winding annals of the monstrously massive musical instrument cabinet next to the practice rooms!
It'll be tremendously tricky after only one lesson, but we've been taught a little bit about practical ways to plot perplexing paradimensional places onto two-dimensional maps, so i should be able to finish the task before it's due.

Of course, it's just the basics right now: multi-layer 2D branch-mapping. We can use multiple sheets of paper for modelling the reality splits individually, but i bought an awesome acetate-paged notepad and a marker so that i can see through to the other layers easily while writing! Plus, it looks super neat!

In other news, has anyone into synths seen the new Moog Mother 32 Synth released a few days ago? I'm supposed to be saving my money, but it sounds so serendipitously smooth! Imagine what it could do if someone were to patch in a high strength infra-sound frequency extrapolation circuit, or maybe a hyper-polyphonic arpeggiator!

Anyway, I mustn't waffle on like that, I could talk about such superb synthesisers for days.

Regarding: "non-euclidean cartography" versus "psychic cartography"

For any cartography confused classmates, I think it's the same subject. Me and @Nobody just refer to it differently. (Maybe due to my leaning to longer language choices) In all honesty, I hadn't really noticed that Nobody was in the class until I read their posts: it's hard to spot invisible students!

I guess it's kinda like how some people call "free periods" "prep" or "general studies", or "sports studies" and "physical education" but it's basically the same thing. Maybe my modal moniker for the subject should change to psychic cartography too, just for clarity. Anyway, hope that clears things up.

I mean, there might really be two classes and i'm just unknowingly witnessing a discreet daily dimensional split that's warping my perception of cartography class. But really, what are the chances of that, huh?

Correct me if i'm wrong!

@Gene Sequins if i understand your previous post properly, you are referring to the Pittsburgh Modular oscillator module, DNA symbiotic waves being patched into the semi-modular marvelous Mother 32, no?

From your reference to the date and time of the Annual Science and Shapeshifters dance, may you be possibly pertaining to equipment or patches you might use in your set on Friday?

Also, DNA-Directed polymerase is EC number 2.7.7.7, which you have reffered to, but you have also said "DNA directed polyphonic synthesis" That's a great phrase!

I've likely missed out on a lot of data that is too advanced for me to comprehend, but I currently almost completely cannot contain myself waiting to find out how all this ties together in more detail!

If you are using the mother 32 on Friday, I will be doubly delighted to see you there! If not, i'll still be at the dance, and watching your performance avidly! EDM-Disco would sound great with a classic moog modular sound, especially with an authentic analogue eurorack setup.

Much thanks, from an intrigued fan.

@Ume Hideko Welcome to Psy High, Miss! I'm really relatively recent at this school myself, but i already know for a fact that the atmosphere and sense of community will make you feel welcome. I'm sorry to hear that you're confused as to why you are here, perhaps you could talk with some psychic communication or temporal forensics students to find out as to what happened, i hope you are able to rapidly resolve this mystery soon.

On another note, your sudden limguistic expertise is not unusually uncommon among students that transfer to psyhigh. I think it's part of the constructed collective consciousness telepathy field that is created around some parts of the school: people can consistently communicate care-freely. It's pretty great!

As for showing you around the school, although supposedly i'm a cartography student, it's only my second day here myself. You'd be better off asking one of the more academy architecture arrangement accustomed students. Someone who's been here a little longer. I don't know many students, well enough to call upon for help though. Anyway, if someone's reading who DOES know any way to get around campus quickly and efficiently, and you're willing to give us a quick tour, please make a post about it and let us know!

Thanks in advance!

Gosh you really don't know how things work around here do you... I guess it was easier for me to adjust accordingly; where i came from was already substantially similar to Psy High: seemingly impossible inhabitant diversity, a bit of magic here and there. But from what i've been hearing, a lot of students found joining the psychic world at Psy High rather distressingly disquieting. I suppose, especially so in your case, since you had not enrolled by choice, as far as you remember at least, I should assume.

Anyway, the point is, Psy High is uh... A different kind of high school, I mean, it's totally normal too, we got classes, cliques, lunch breaks, pocket dimension generators etc. It's just that where you come from, in this "Japan" of yours, you might not have heard of a multiversal reality nexus, or Zཽ̧͙͍̰̻̗̈̔̓̽'̞̮͓̔̋҉̧y̪̼̟̲̙̯͎ͦǵ͚͇̈̋̾⃗͐̓⃟r͚̿ͪ̄͗̉l̤̲̜ͣͩ⃖ͨ̇̆͑̀͡t̙̥̞̝͍͚͇̄͒ͮ̃͑̉̒ͅ҉̢ḩ̪̞̭̦̬̀ͪ᷈᷈҉ '̴̲͍̫̜̪͂͆ͭ⃡v̼͇̰̲͉̻̔̈̈҉l̝̜̘༙͇ͧ̉ͯͨͦ̂ͪ́h̨̗̗̣̣̙̮̗͔̔ͥ̔́͂᷈̉ͦr̞͌̃́ͥͯͪ͆͜e̦̦༙̼͍̅ͣͭ̐ͥ͂̇ͮ́'̫͙̬̠̳̰̳̥͗͊⃗u̼͙̟͓͇͓̬ͥ᷉ͤ̋͛̿͂ṵ̗̔̓̅́ͅm༙̼̗͇̭̜͉̮᷉̾̈̊͋, or spinach soup, but those things "exist" here wether you like it or not!

And yes, this is the "real" school website. Just like you're sitting in a "real" dorm room right now. I certainly shouldn't really be awake at all right now. I'll inform you some more when i have a little of my energy back.

Thanks for talking though.

Lately i've been thinking of starting an experimental hip-hop/musical slam poetry project. I love the precussive pace posessed by rap, and often the form allows for further freedom poetically.

It'd be increasingly interesting if i could combine that with some sick psychic incantations, especially if they are pyrokinetic! Imagine having a rap battle where the rhymes are so fire that the mic-controllers competing combust!

Okay, maybe that would be too dangerous, but it's a cool concept, right?

Ohh my golly gosh @Sthephie Serpenthine WHEN DID U GET HERE... After you've found all your classes please come and be my roomie!!! I was so lonely I contemplated caring for a cat! Ok well maybe i wasnt that lonely... But a room with Sthephie is instantly like, one-thousand percent less lonely.

Watch my stuff as you enter the room, though; I've still not completely categorised my DIY circuit soldering stuff, and I don't want you tripping on a tin of transistors or anything, so be cautious of where you step babs.

Anyway, talk to you later
