So it turns out the key to getting a whole herd of giant spiders to live together peaceably is to start ‘em young! If a bunch of baby spiders grow up but never leave the web, they can get real social. So I’ve been visiting a bunch of giant spider breeders looking at broods. The dance is in just a week!

The thing I can't get over is the smell. It's overpoweringly musky, but there's something in it that you can't help liking? Like horses, but cleaner.

I've been given the job of feeding them, bringing in barrels of giant flies. I'm protected because of the magnets in my shoes. Except from their stares, reflecting the light of my flashlight in the empty gym.

Yeah I like to party.

While I am excited for this dance-- it still seems so... scary. What if I do something wrong? Are we actually supposed to dance? Will people look at me weird? Gods.. it's all so scary! I mean, I guess it is Halloween after all.

Are we even supposed to have some to go with? Because I swear by my hand if I at this party left am alone, then expect to be trying not to weap in the corner. I'm terrified to actually ask someone to the dance though. I am in SUCH a perdicament.

Will there be games to play? Perhaps that would solve 90% of my worries regarding this because, boy-- I love games!

I've been put in charge of lighting for the dance and have been told it has to be red. It will make the giant spiders feel more comfortable if we don't have bright flashing lights and spotlights and strobe lights and the big mirror ball that I stole from my last school and have in my room I am so mad!!!

Ugh how are we supposed to dance with all these webs everywhere? I can't even find the punch bowl.

If more people wore magnets in their shoes it would be easier to find them wrapped up in all these webs. Most of them the spiders haven’t even got to yet but it’s only a matter of time. I suggested those little flamethrowers so we could just burn our way through but I guess since it is in the gym they think it would be too risky. So we have to just use machetes and watch out for the silk-sacs.
