Rio and I missed the cut off time on the Prismatic trail, so we had to plan on spending the night in the woods. But then--we found @
timberlina's treehouse! It's one of those old Psyhigh oral history myths, but turns out it's real. You can tell it's been abandoned for a long time, but the timber, the plaid, the pulleys and stuff... even the griddle and the coffee pot. Just like in the stories.
But it's also got a lot of spiders and dust and tree shrews and it's late, so we're sleeping on the deck tonight. Knocked the dust out of a couple of commemorative pillows from the 1929 Timberland World's Fair, and shook the spiders out of an old wool blanket.
I heard about some treehouses in the woods we can sleep in? I'd like to sleep outside. Well, under a roof, and out of the dirt. Off the forest floor, with open windows and a door you can leave open, so there's a breeze, at night. And nobody around. Well just some friends maybe.
