Hey guys!

I'm starting up a new grewp ;) on campus - Forensic Accountants for Faith! And anyone is welcome to join who has an interest in forensic accounting and faith.

Obviously, in observance of state and federal laws, the "faith" part of FAF refers entirely to faith in our monetary system, and in no way reflects or favors any particular religion.

We'll be meeting in the basement of Oak Leaf Hall, room 667, Thursdays at 8pm.

Hope to see you there!!

Betty

@Betty_456, I would like to know more about your group.

For @I Am The Champ, and anyone else who might have questions:

The FAF combines my own interest in Forensic Accounting and faith based monetary systems.

I have been a member of PBLT (Psychic Business Leaders of Tomorrow) since 4th grade, when I went to state finals with my home based business making memory enhancing pot holders. Though it was a tight market, mine not only enhanced memory but also proved 79% effective in the recovery of lost objects and recovering memories of the recently departed.

Thursdays at 8! Don't be late! ;)

Betty

Thanks to everyone who attended tonight. I can tell this is going to be a really great year!

As I explained to @Goldie_D_Durpus at the meeting, we're not a crafts club, and that she might be better suited at the Psychic Homemakers Club, which meets on Mondays... somewhere.

Forensic Accountants for Faith is, as the name implies, is specifically about accounting as it applies to legal action. That means, looking over records and accounting practices with an eye specifically for aspects that might be illegal, or indicate illegal practices.

Furthermore, it takes into account that our belief in money as having "value" is entirely a leap of faith - an investment of deep meaning and commitment into a system without any rational or scientific basis whatsoever.

Obviously, this is an area rich in philosophical exploration! Can a crime truly have been committed, if none of the rules had any fundamental meaning to begin with?

I'll be following up with each of you who filled out the application forms, and letting you know how it turns out.

Thanks!!

Betty

The meeting tonight for Forensic Accountants for Faith was a bust. I guess I need to ease up on our membership standards, since I still have not approved any applicants.

I have decided to initiate @i am the champ and @GOLDIE_D_DURPUS into the FAF. With the proper grooming, I feel they will both be adequate members until the academic rigor of our discipline becomes too much for them. Also, now I will be able to take roll at meetings.

As much as I live for putting my all into everything I do, as well as being involved in every on-campus club, and also starting new clubs in my free time, I'm worried that Forensic Accountants for Faith isn't moving in the direction I think would be best for the school and the active student student body.

Like anyone, I'm intrigued by the metaphysical underpinnings of our notions of "value" and how that forms the foundation for a stable monetary system that can transcend both culture and history, but the leader of the FAF seems focused on the kinds of "arts and crafts" she specifically said this club wasn't about. My co-members and I have been tasked to knit "robot cozies" for Bob, the acceptance robot, and now to print "I {heart} Dick" t-shirts, no doubt related to our leader's obsession with @Dick Greid, the famous burrito magnate who recently started continuing ed classes here.

As a member of many (if not all) school groups, my time is in high demand, and already my Thursday night meeting schedule includes the Tropical Aquarium Sashimi Aficionados work group, Ancient Science Olympiad, rehearsals for The Chthonic Follies, and Solomon's Key Club. However, if I stop attending even one club I'm worried it will damage my chances of winning the "Most Active Student" award, which I've won every year of school since kindergarten.

But I've never been one to be a stick in the mud! I'm sure I'll be seeing you around!

Sincerely,

The Champ

Alright everybody! This Thursday's meeting is going to be the best FAF meeting we've had so far. Your initiations have gone great, and now it's time to start digging into the meat of what Forensic Accounting for Faith is really about.

Your assignment for this week's meeting: everyone's going to bring something they place real value in. This can be something physical (i.e., an object) or it can be more abstract (like, I dunno, your first kiss? Your faith in your friends?) and then we're going to have a swap meet! This will really start getting us to the core of the issue here.

So, think deeply on this, consider well, and come to this Thursday's meeting ready to make trades!

See you then! Basement of Oak Leaf Hall, room 667, this Thursday at 8. And newcomers are welcome.

Betty
