I enjoy the freedom at Psychic High. Back at Apple Spirit River we couldn't go out after dark, on account of the Carrot Men.

Is there anybody else here from Apple Spirit River? Since we had to evacuate, we're kind of dispersed all over, and Psyhigh seemed like a likely place to end up.

Apple Spirit River represent! I didn't know things had gotten that bad with the Carrot Men. Whole town evacuated, @Seth Sawhorse?

Yes! So many Apple Spirit River folk are ending up here!

I miss Apple Spirit River so much. And the Knife Knife! Such good times. What other town had an all-ages pagan club that was that lit? FIRE!

Not the whole town @Isabella Addison, but everybody's who's left is pretty bunkered down. Connected most of the buildings with shipping containers so nobody has to go outside and you can walk everywhere through tunnels.

The Apple Spirit River structure is bigger every day. There are branches and tunnels you can find your way all the way to Psyhigh if you're lucky. Or beyond.

Sometimes the Carrot Men find their way in and we have to block it off, but you can find your way around it. The Carrot Men aren't smart like that. I mean, they're persistent, but it's like they don't understand basic stuff.

Still, we should block off any parts that lead to to Psychic High School. I pulled down a lot of shelves and stuff in the storage room I came through. And barricaded the door.

I brought some of the very small Carrot Men to Psyhigh's biology department. We don't call them "Baby Carrots" because it might offend some people to think we are performing experiments of baby versions of Carrot Men. So just think of them as the versions of Carrot Men before they are big enough to dig themselves out of the ground and start scaring people.

Acquiring these very small Carrot Men was no small feat. My friend Rudolpho had to sneak deep into their territory late at night, past lots of Carrot Men patrols, and pull them out and sneak back. Rudolpho knows the land very well because his grandpa is from there.

The very small Carrot Men are still squirming a little, asking for carrot milk. So for now we are feeding them and just giving them behavioral tests.

"We really shouldn't be doing this."

"Keep your voice down. Do you want to go back?"

"Well... no."

"Ok then. It's just around the next corner. We'll each grab two six packs and be back before you know it."

"Alright. I'm ready."

"Shhhhh - wait. Listen!"

"...... I don't hear anything."

"I heard a rustle... "

"NOW you're freaking me out."

Suddenly Manny pulled me back around the corner.

It was then I saw the shadows of the carrot tops, coming down the street.

Guess this means no Rites of Spring gala back in Apple Spirit River this year, huh?

My dad worked at The Field when it was brand new. They were going to solve world hunger, with "The Root Vegetable of the Ancients."

So I ate a ton of them growing up. I think that is what made them so aggressive.
