Atlantica or Pacific

Hellooooooo Psyhigh! Oh, it's just so wonderful to be here! Of course, I've been at school for about a week now but I just haven't written in my journal yet. But now I am! Do you know how long I've waited to get into Psyhigh?!? I made, like, five separate appointments with Tulka (shout out to our favorite Head of Admissions!) but Pacifica kept intervening. She's always in charge during the WORST possible times.

Oh, wait, am I supposed to introduce myself? Well, I will now, but don't worry! I'll also do it personally when I see you all around school. My name is Atlantica Shan Ging, and I'm a parasitic twin! Not one of those twins with an extra head or arm. No, my sister and I share our entire body! Some days I wake up and Pacifica is in control, some days I get to be in control! We just bunk together inside our little ol' noggin and take turns living. So right now I'm controlling the body, and so today we're Atlantica! Pacifica can still see, hear, taste, touch, and smell everything that I see, hear, taste, touch, and smell, she just can't communicate or control anything. Which is kinda good, cause she's a real grump! Whenever she's in charge, bad stuff happens. Whenever I take the wheel, good stuff happens! Sometimes I wish that I was ALWAYS in charge, or that Pacifica would just get her own body. But I love my sister, and I think my brain would be lonely without her. Plus, she gives a whole new meaning to talking to myself! :) Well, that's me in a glance. Sorry my journal entry is so long, I'm just so excited to be part of this school!!!! Can't wait to meet you all in class, buh-bye!

Huge warm welcome!

The classes here are fantastic! I tried to sign up for all of them, but Tulka wouldn't let me. So I got a list of pre-assigned classes instead! Yay!!! Tulka is definitely my new best friend, along with all my other new best friends I met today! One of the best things about my best friends is that they don't always realize they're my best friends. It's like a surprise friendship! How great is that?!?

Oh, yeah, I was talking about classes! So Pacifica and I are signed up for Beginner Reality Bending, Psychic History, Fifth Period Lunch (the one with all the Morgans in it), Advanced Mental Focusing, Spirit Studies, How to Speak Cow, and Luck Lacing. If you're in one of those classes, HI HI HI HI HI! *jumps up and down and waves* Tulka really knows his stuff, and he doesn't even mind when I talk to him for three hours straight! He never talked back, but he smiled a lot when he suddenly got a raise after our first hour of talking! That part was really random.... Anyways! I don't really know why I'm in Reality Bending or Luck Lacing, but hopefully Pacifica will! I've been in control for the past three days, I think it's almost her turn. So here's a warning to all my besties (especially you! Yeah, you! You know who you are!), if the body is scowling tomorrow, it's because I'm stuck inside the brain. Be sure to give Pacifica a big hug though, she loves them! She may not even punch you!

Before I finish writing, shout out to the girl who was drawing cats at the bottom of the school swimming pool! You really know how to draw, and that pile of sea shells your fish (isn't his name @Nemo?) gave you is so pretty! I hope I can talk to you sometime, we can be best friends! Don't worry, I'm a lucky person to have around and I'm not even annoying! Honest!

Goodbye everybody. Mercifully the stars that determine who's in control of the body have let me slide into the drivers seat this morning. Honestly, most people don't appreciate the feeling of waking up and being able to roll over in bed. It's just heavenly. Now that I'm in charge though, Atlantica and I are leaving. I am infuriated that she dragged us into this psychotic school. Sure, the two of us may slightly change people's luck and reality when our emotions get a little too high, but we don't belong here. This place is too weird. For goodness sakes, our roommate is able to change her state of matter at will! I cannot cope with a peer sometimes made of liquid, gas, or plasma. I just can't. In fact, I was so angry with Atlantica this morning that I caused a bird to fly full speed into our room's window. It was a peregrine, a bird that can fly over 200 mph, so you can imagine my concern. Yes, I was very concerned for the window, which now has a nasty crack in it. Does Psyhigh issue property damage fines? Oh, I'm just bad luck to have around.

As I type, I'm walking back to Atlantica's poor tortured Head of Admissions, Tulka, to un-enroll us. Hopefully I can get us transported back to Chicago before my dippy sister wakes up and sees what I'm doing. I don't understand why she is so happy all the time, all she does is get herself -- and later ME -- into terrible predicaments. Well, goodbye Psyhigh. I admit that I was kind of interested in the classes here, but Pacifica Shan Ging is not meant to be here. Wish me luck and maybe the un-enrollment will be effortless. Then again, I'm the unlucky one....

Tulka was a total let-down. I can't believe it, but for once Atlantica is going to get away with her scheme. Apparently we aren't allowed to un-enroll unless we both agree to. How come we were allowed to enroll when I didn't agree??? Tulka won't answer. Mainly because he is mute. I'm almost happy that the Admissions ritual he began once I left his office went haywire and his entire body turned purple.

But yeah, we're stuck here at Psyhigh until we graduate or Atlantica cries mercy and let's me un-enroll us. I've been cranky all day as a result of this new development and spent much of the day in the school's Whispering Tree Arbor. Naively I was hoping that I'd be able to calm down there and reduce my damage to innocent people's lives to a minimum. Instead I got annoyed when one of the trees kept whispering about my hair. I got into an intense fight with it and... well... the sunlight bent so it focused through a giant magnifying glass (why was one of those even in the Arbor?!?) and set the tree on fire. Then it changed from a Whispering Tree into a Screaming Tree. My ears are still ringing.

Looking out the dorm windows, where I've been hiding since the Arbor half burned to the ground, I can see people are getting set up for some Formal dance. I doubt I'll go, it'll just be a disas--

*paper airplane flies into room and hits Pacifica in the face*

OUCH! What is this thing? *reads letter* No way! I'm semi-important PART of the dance. I can't believe Atlantica's insistence on making friends has actually resulted in making friends! Whoa, I'm actually kind of excited now. Mainly queasy with social anxiety, but also excited! I'll need to find something to wear, maybe we packed something Daisy-ish in our suitcase. Hmm.... You know, maybe this school isn't so bad after all. Things could still turn out crumby, but who can be sad when your a flower? Either way, it'll make Atlantica so jealous that I was in control during the dance. And anything that makes her mad makes me glad.

*Yawn* Wow, that was an interesting party. I don't know why I stayed so long, usually big social events make me tired of the entire human race within the hour. I guess having a group to hang out with makes it better. Even though that group was dressed up like huge bugs. Nothing like compounded eyes to make you feel welcome.

I met the @Jessica Moon girl who invited me to be a Daisy... I think she wants to be friends. Atlantica usually either steals my friends by being more social than me or scares them away, so I'm being wary. She kept giving me random hugs, and then her quill would poke me through her pocket. It really hurt, I've got a bruise now. But at least I was being included. I tried to restrain my initial instinct to punch her, as I've learned that punching isn't the correct response to hugs.

I saw all sorts of strange students at the dance. One girl could read minds. I only know because I felt Atlantica get all excited inside our brain. I don't know if the girl was able to read anything because of Atlantica rambling at her, but I sure hope not. I've got some intense anger up there in my half of the cranium, and I try really hard to keep it up there. We don't want anymore Screaming Trees. The girl who was the Lovely Wasp was pretty nice, even if she kept floating into the air and setting decorations on fire. I felt guilty about that, I'm pretty sure that whenever I was near her, I gave her bad luck and her powers went hay-wire. If you're reading this @Jackie Packerman, I'm really sorry. There was another student who was completely pale, and everybody was flocking around her like she was a celebrity. Something about being the Student of the Month? And ghosts with cats? I wasn't sure. I thought she looked a little nervous, which I can understand. People are predators, ready to pounce on the weak and feed on their fears.... Maybe she and Jessica and I could be a trio of friends. *shrug* I'll see. Atlantica and I are stuck here for a while, so I might as well try and make connections with my peers.

Anyways, I left the party at around ten. A guy I had been watching started to dance with another girl, which made me unbearably angry and envious (I have no idea why... *looks around nervously*). Long story short, the Crickets' instruments were suddenly discovered to have aggravated acid-spitting crickets in them. That was enough excitement for one night, and I retired. I must have still been mad, because the peregrine flew into the dorm window again. I'm really really worried about that poor window. Any more hits and it might shatter!

To the student who's room was sent into an alternate dimension,

Sorry. It's my fault that happened. I'm sorry, couldn't help it. You drove me to it! After listening to you practice whale calls for three hours straight I just kind of... lost it. And as I lost it, the Portal Creation Contraption was about to be fired. And you got the bad luck of being in its sights when the operators unluckily plugged in the wrong co-ordinates. Again, I apologize, and I hope that you will find new accommodations soon. A word to the wise though, limit the whale calls to an hour. Honestly, anything over two hours is overkill. ...or should I say overkrill? ha ha ha.... Yeah, this is why I don't make jokes.

Deepest apologies,

Pacifica
(the girl living across from the smoldering hole where your room used to be)

I'm BAAAACK! *giggles* Yes yes yes yes yessss! Atlantica is here today! Which was super duper great because today was Pacifica and mine's first day of actual real-live classes! *excited squeal* It was so much FUN! Like when the cafeteria was flooded with un-solidified jello, and then it solidified around our bodies, and we had to eat our way out, and luckily it was CHERRY jello and CHERRY is my FAVORITE flavor of JELLO!!! I made so many new friends while we ate out of the jello, it was like a bonding trip! The teachers here are super nice too, even though they say that because Pacifica and I enrolled at the end of the year we have to take some summer classes. That's okay though, if I can learn how to ask the cows for ice cream anytime I feel the urge for frozen delights it will be SOOOO worth it! I got so excited in Luck Lacing class, the teacher told me to show off my good luck influence. I focused on the happy things in life (like daisies, warm hugs, and boy bands!) and suddenly the fire alarm went off and the Pop Quiz that was scheduled for today was canceled! I made, like, ten new besties right there! Life is so much better when you're around happy people!

Like at the dance for example, everybody was so smiley! I'm almost upset that Pacifica got to be in control instead of me. She's such a loner. I went up to the cute guy she saw at the dance and told him that my sister that was currently living in my brain and sometimes take over my body had a crush on him, but he kinda didn't believe me. Don't worry sis, I'll find you a better boyfriend later! Anyways, while she was pouting in the corner at the party, I was busting moves ALL NIGHT! Even when Pacifica left early, I was still dancing inside our brain! The music was just so amazing! *dances like a dork alone in the dorm room* Thanks to @Jessica Moon and @Scilph for making my sister and I feel welcome. Jessica, you're a great hugger! And Scilphy, can I call you Scilphy? I'm going to call you Scilphy because that's what BFF's do, we give each other nicknames! Right Jessie?!?! Any hoo, Scilphy, you were destined for the spot light! You totally rocked the crowd! Oh, and @Nova Toaster, thanks so much for making the dance go smoothly! I owe you, like, ten favors! I'm baking everybody cupcakes when I find an oven and the ingredients for cupcakes to thank you all for the fun fun fun fun FUN night! *giggles* Sorry, I'm a little hyper!

Tomarrow I'm going to look into the clubs, societies, sororities, gangs, hierarchies, artificial groups, reclusive hermit meetings, and other afterschool stuffies. They all sound so fun, I want to join them all! *does a happy twirl* Oops, I'm getting too happy! Somebody outside is screaming about winning the lottery. I'd be happy for them, but technically me helping them is cheating, and Pacifica tells me that cheating at these things messes with people and their realities. But, well, sometimes you gotta let a good thing just be! Well, I've got to go try to write an essay on the seven different types of Split Reality Disorder! This'll be fun! :D Good-bye best friends!!!! (Especially YOU. You and I are SUPER besties, whoever you are!)

Secret

5/5/2015 4:21pm

Okay, I don't have a ton of time, but I was so excited about this that I couldn't possibly NOT tell all my journaling besties! So I was browsing the list of clubs, conspiracy groups, etc. when I saw the club that I totally, absolutely, inevitably have to join! It is destiny, I am FOR SURE, that I'm supposed to join the Dark Arts, Relics, and Concepts Club! DARCC (isn't that just the cutest name?!?) is a group of students who in secret and talk about all sorts of secrets, secretly. Secret sharing is, like, one of my favorite hobbies! It's one of my favorite things to do with friends! Added bonus, everybody dresses in all black and covers their faces at the meeting! Black is my FAV COLOR!!!! See? I'm destined for this club! There was a note underneath the name DARCC saying that the Spongiform Unimind condemns this group and anybody caught in it will be given a detention, but I think that makes it so so so much more fun! I can't wait to meet all these new friends, maybe we can do introductions and group hugs at tonight's meeting! *blushes and giggles* Oops, I just realized, all this information was supposed to be secret... well, I can trust you guys, right? Of course, we're all besties! So, uh, nobody tell the teachers that the secret and illegal club is meeting in the Whispering Tree Arbor at twilight tonight. And nobody follow me. Pretty please? Thanks guys, you're the best! <3

The DARCC meeting was so much fun! I'm in detention for a week because of it, but it was worth it! We were all really really quiet when we met at the Arbor, and the other members were all mummery and spooky, so I got the ball rolling and introduced myself and asked everybody else's names! The DARCC kids acted really startled and wouldn't tell me their names, so I gave them nick-names instead! It was so funny to watch their eyes get really wide the longer I talked! Shout out to my new Clubbie Besties; Carrot-Top, Nose Beak, Twitchy, Itchy, Casper (the friendly ghost... cause he kept fading from view), Lava Girl, Short-Stuff, and Glare! Glare reminded me a lot of Pacifica! She just wouldn't stop glaring at me, just like my sister! I gave her a big surprise hug to try to cheer her up, but that just made her more mad. I feel kind of bad about that. :( Glare cheered up when I introduced Pacifica though! She and Nose Beak looked at each other and started whispering. It was totally unfair to exclude me, so I told them that "Secrets secrets are no fun, unless you share with everyone!"- which is like, my life motto. What's the point of joining a secret club with secret people where everything is a secret if you don't SHARE the secrets??? After staring at me for a long time again (DARCC kids love staring at me when I start yelling or singing) Glare said that the DARCC Club had found a really really cool artifact! It's this little box with symmetrical images allllllll over it, and it's black. MY FAVORITE COLOR!!!! I was, like, sooooo excited to see the box. It sounded so pretty, like one of those cute jewelry boxes that plays music when you open it! Glare was starting to explain what it did, something about souls and combining, but suddenly somebody started yelling outside the Whispering Tree Arbor! I thought it was a new friend, but the DARCC kids got really freaked out and scattered. Was that you @Scilph? Or was it your super cute ghosty friend @Morris? Side note, I was super bummed when I didn't see you at the meeting Scilphy!!!! Either way, the meeting was adjourned and I haven't heard when the next one is. I can't wait until we meet again though, maybe Pacifica will be in control then! Everybody was so interested in our brain sharing! Pacifica would looooove all that attention! I think that joining DARCC was a fantastic idea!!!! I have to leave now though, I'm being interrogated again. Some @Junior Agent LuLu has been asking me all sorts of silly questions about my new Clubbie Besties. Silly LuLu, what do I know about dangerous weapons of mass destruction??? LuLu doesn't really like me, but I'm convinced that if I keep trying and tell her more of my pun jokes, we can be besties!!!!

Oh, and Twitchy! Itchy! Lava Girl! Keep me in touch guys, that's what friends do!

Oh Psyhigh. Just as I thought that this place might be okay. Just as I thought this might be the time where I learn to control bad luck as well as Atlantica controls good luck. Just as I find comfort, and welcome. Oh Psyhigh, that is when you strike. And you fight dirty.

Not everybody knew. Not everybody noticed. But you can see it on the faces of those who did. I passed by Scilph's room. I have to pass it to get to the Advanced Mental Focus classroom. There were some flowers left outside the door, and Get Well Soon balloons, and an odd looking pillow with galaxy printed fabric. Somebody must have made it themselves, but the stiches were all messy and it was way over-stuffed. You could see the grief in that fabric, no doubt the Space-Time Fabric class designed it. They put emotion into all of their universe. I knocked on Scilph's door for what felt like an hour before I received the news. Psyhigh, you must know how hard it is to make friends when you're... one of us. Psyhigh, you promised to be a sanctuary for us, a place to learn and bond and grow in safety. Keep that promise, and show me how to help Jessica. I've been in the Self-Aware Library for the past five hours, and all the books it's haphazardly tossed at me have been vague or inapplicable. Psyhigh, very few people want to be friends with a bad luck magnet. Why would you steal away one of the few souls kind enough to try? @Jessica Moon, if you can somehow read this, I want you to know that I'm not going to let you down. It's one thing to mope about your bad luck and sit in a corner until it goes away. It's quite another to take that bad luck and fight it. I've never tried fighting before, but--

*Another book, old and unseen since 1927, slams into Pacifica's shoulder*

Okay, this library is purposefully malicious! *starts reading book skeptically* Wait... actually, this may work. @Scilph, I'm headed into the basement. I might have found a group that can help Jessica. I'm not for sure. This may be a stupid idea or a waste of time. But I'll never forgive myself if I don't try. Goodbye everybody, I'm off to track down the elusive Life Interested Team Enriching Existence club. I'm off to find the LITEE. Wish me luck, Atlantica's luck.
