I have a story. It's about the PHS Bus, but I'm not sure how to post this there.
So. How this began. I woke up one morning, as per usual, but I felt off. It was a Monday. Neither of my parents were home which wasn't necessarily odd. What was odd was my dog was gone. I decided to go out to look for her. I can't say why. I didn't even search the house as far as I can remember, and I am mostly sure I had school that day, and even if I didn't I usually don't make a habit of leaving the house on my own.

I can't remember exactly my movements. Like, normally I can picture myself walking around the house getting ready, but that day all I remember is snippets of grabbing my bag, some things to put in it, putting on my dad's sweatshirt... which I don't usually do either. Scratch that, I never do that.
I don't usually bring bags on my walks either, when I do take them. Especially not the old red one I used in elementary school with little pink cupcakes on it. Remembering it, I almost felt as if my mind was submerged in molasses from that flood in Boston, like I was there, but everything was slow and sweet and terrifying, and I was drowning slowly and I should've been able to just leave and get out but I couldn't for some inexplicable reason.

I left the house. At this point I wasn't looking for my dog anymore, completely forgetting my task. The sky was gray. I walked down the street I suppose, although I don't remember that. I do remember looking at a break in the foliage to my left by the big tree which has always been there, and I went down once before. It leads to a little path around the neighbors house. But this time, I stopped. I went through, and I expected more. More there was.

As I walked along the small path, I suddenly arrived at a clearing. It was surrounded by trees and beautiful flowers. Dandelions everywhere, some pink and purple flowers I couldn't name, and marigolds grew freely. Looking back, I didn't smell anything. In the very center of the clearing was a circle of mushrooms. It looked so appealing... Like one could step in and twirl in circles for hours, princess of the forest and all who entered, at peace with Gaea and myself. But I'm no fool. I knew what it was. A fairy circle. My eyes stung like they always do when I tear up. Why could I just enjoy it? Why do I have to ruin everything? Can't I just have fun and dance?

No.
My brain wouldn't compute, like an overheating computer. I couldn't think. My thoughts were being blocked. I turned to leave. Just then, I saw the bus.

It pulled in through the gap in the brush that I had previously walked through. I don't know how it fit. It stopped right in front of me. The doors opened. I could see a flash of red from the seat right above the stairs. If I went in, I would be saved from... what? What was I worried about? I just need to go on the bus before I missed it. The schedule is tight. I grabbed the cold metal bar. "Iron", my useless brain choked out. "Cold metal.. iron." That was the first thought, first connection I had made that day. Iron. Iron ear rings. To ward off whispering-

I let go. Fairies. I remembered. Fairy circle. Strange bus. It was like someone had splashed cold water on the cotton filling my head. Still there, but smaller. The bus and the fairies wanted me. I didn't belong here. "Oh darling," said my brain to me, "don't you remember? You Make yourself belong."

I remember. This wasn't my house. Or my street. Or my bag, or clothes, or life. This wasn't me. I need to leave. But the bus blocked the way out. I threw myself at the bushes blocking my way, but they threw me back. Next thing I knew I was in the circle, falling, falling, the smell of rubber hitting the road, a door closing, and me, sitting on the bus, a clump of grass and mushrooms in one hand, sweat in the other.

And that's how I ended up here. If you see me, please tell me where I am. I need to find my way to... wherever I'm from. All i have is what molasses me put in this bag, which is a random assortment of items which thankfully included this phone and an almost empty wallet with no ID. And no, Annie isn't my real name, it's from a song I like. The only song I remember. I remember my name, yes. But you don't hive your name to fae.

School Store Oddities

I had an odd encounter at the school store.
How this began: I was wandering around campus in some pajamas. I still don't know how I got here, where here is, and other philosophical and practical questions most people will answer at some point. Anyway, I needed to change into other clothes. My shorts looked like an eight-year-old bought them at Justice, and felt like that too. So when I saw the sign for a school store, I decided to check it out. Better than wandering around campus in whatever the heckity heck this was.
When I got there, I immediately bought some sweatpants with the little cash I had in this wallet. But something else caught my eye. A leather-bound journal with crinkly yellowish pages, like something you'd see in a museum. It had a piece of twine holding it closed, and a wine-red seal on the front. I was intrigued. So I bought it, along with a bendy pencil. Don't judge. I then went to find somewhere to write.
Off-topic, but I did find a lovely little bench outside with a very pretty tree to write under. It had swirly carvings on it and was shaped like a horseshoe. Quite lovely.
Anyway, I finally sat down and opened the book. There was the typical, "This book belongs to _____", so I wrote Annie Sweet. I then flipped through it, and to my disappointment, there was absolutely no writing. I had high hopes.
But it was still a very cool looking notebook, so I started writing in it. I wrote a poem I always liked, The Orange by Wendy Cope. I decided to make this a book of my favorite things. I could make it live up to my dreams, no matter how high. When I had finished, I decided to take a walk to remember my favorite things.
As I walked down the path, I remembered it was lunchtime. And, lucky for me, there was a fruit stand here. How did I not see it before? So I bought an orange. It was huge. I kept walking, peeling as I went. And before I knew it I saw two guys. Now, I couldn't eat this whole thing by myself, so I gave them each a quarter. We laughed at how absurdly big it was, and I continued my walk. I felt content. Like nothing really mattered, yet everything did. I smiled.
Then I remembered, and looked in my new journal. The Orange. Weird, today is just like that. I glanced at my pencil and saw writing. I had assumed it was the brand of the pencil, but now as I examined it further, I saw I was right. "Lady Sharpe's Reality-Bendy Pencil". Huh. Who would've figured?

Rumormongering

This rumor is about the campus.
I'm doubting anyone actually goes here.
I haven't seen anyone here since Friday. And even then, I only saw two people, and when I went back to see if they were real, they were gone. Or maybe the school is intentionally isolating me. In any case, I can't get home and I'm getting rather lonely, so if anybody sees me please hold off on hazing me and tell me what's going on.
Another thing: where are the groundskeepers? It's not like everything is overgrown, because the lawns look like they were just cut. But the trees are terrifyingly big with seemingly no gaps between them to escape out of. And I think they might be getting closer.
Anyway, spread the rumor that hazing has been made illegal and punishable by a VERY hefty fine please. I'm tired of wandering the grounds.

To start this entry off, thank you so much to @Ms. Hazeltine for informing me about this weird pocket reality. I'll be sure to look out for any strange things that may guide me somewhere else.

However, this little adventure happened before I knew about the Christmas lights.
I was walking around campus, looking for a snack since I was getting hungry. I've found the cafeteria in my wanderings, but I was getting tired of frozen lunch food, no offense.
I had gotten a little lost. It was getting darker and darker by the minute, and I thought I should get back to where I was sleeping, no I'm not saying where. All of a sudden, I saw multicolored lights flickering from a window on an upper floor.
I went through the nearest door I could find and up a small twisting staircase. There was a long, wide hall at the top, and I walked down it, opening all the doors. There were only three.
The first was locked, so I decided to come back to it in a minute. The second opened to a room with an open window even though it was freezing outside. It had a bed and a desk. The only notable thing was a pile of plant clippings in a trashcan, but some were hanging out and trailing towards the desk. Creepy. I closed the door.
The last door had a whiteboard on the outside, with three magnets. One had a red, green, and blue logo shape thing on it, like the Psy High logo, and the other two were chrome circles. I opened the door.
Inside, was a room with a bed and a desk like the other room. Unlike the other room, there were no various knickknacks that most humans have, like a comb and some books. It was totally empty. Except for the dollhouse.
It was small, it fit on the desk. It was complete with mini furniture and multicolored Christmas lights on the outside. That's what I had seen. On it was taped a note. It read, "Welcome to Psychic High School! We hope you can get settled in soon. Your luggage should be arriving in 7-14 business days. Happy Holidays! -Staff"
I sighed, and sat down on my new bed. I'd be here for while.

I haven't posted in a while. Nothing's really happened here, I guess. I found my room. I've been wandering the grounds looking for Christmas lights. I found a roll and have been stringing them along lights leading back to my dorm, so look out for those. Yesterday I read @Frem 's post on how he left gifts for everyone, and I thought that was really sweet, so I decided to do the same. I couldn't find wrapping paper, or very many places not covered with snow, so sorry about that. Again, thanks to @Frem for leaving gifts!! I'll post again when something interesting happens.

The Horrible Indoors.

I've been stuck inside for a while. Not by choice, of course. I was snowed in. I'm not entirely certain "snow" is the right word, but suffice it to say something heavy, cold, and wet is blocking the door out.
It's so cold the windows are stuck shut too. Although, it's rather warm in here. And there don't seem to be any heating vents. I'm starting to think it's not cold, and that's not snow, since it hasn't melted even a bit.
So I've decided to grab this duffel bag I found by the "snow"-blocked door towards the beginning of my isolation and climb out a window. I have some Christmas lights left, I had planned to string them around before that I can climb down on. I'll break the window in the furnished room, not mine.
Also, something to note: the duffel bag was full of crystals, candles, small glass bottles both empty and full of things I can't identify, and a small plant I've been watering. It smells like herbs. Kinda like stew, although I have no memories of ever eating stew.
Anyway, if you were already stuck in a pocket dimension and see a door blocked by a cold and wet mass and an upper window with Christmas lights handing out, I'll be somewhere nearby. Also, you should probably run.

There was once a baticeer,
In another world, a person who trains bats.
She cooked with sage,
But missed a page
Sent in the mail. Aw rats.

1/21/2021 1:58pm

Hello again. It's been awhile.
If you've been reading my journal you'll probably be wondering if my escape attempt was successful, and if so, where I am.
The answer to both is that I'm not sure. I think the easiest way to explain is to tell what's happened since my last post.
So, I put my phone down and grabbed the light string. I tied it to my bed frame. Luckily, it was made of metal, so it should hold. I then stood on the windowsill and pried open the window. It took a lot of effort so I took a little break to rest so I wouldn't fall down climbing.
When I felt ready again, I grabbed my bags and threw them outside. They hit the cold and wet thing with a splat that made me wince. Hopefully if it was sentient it wouldn't notice.
I then threw the cord out the window and started to climb out. It took a lot of effort, because the window was smaller than I remembered. It's all a bit fuzzy. Like before I had been able to stand on the sill, but now I could barely get my leg out the window, but it didn't really register in the moment what happened? Weird.
Anyway, I somehow made it out and started to climb down.
All of a sudden, I hear a loud crashing sound. The flimsy fake wood that made my bed frame had snapped, and it flew out the huge open window. I fell. It made sense at the time, like I knew this was a possibility. But looking back, I'm just confused.
I don't remember anything else from that day. When I woke up I was in a locked room, the one I'm in currently. I've tried describing it in my head but nothing I can say really fits it, ya know? Not in a horrific way, just in the way you can't describe how two locations in a dream differ from real locations you know even though they're similar but you have a gut feeling they're different.
I don't really like it here. It's cold and damp. I poked my fingers under the door cracks and the cold and wet thing is there. My bags are gone. There's just clouds out my window. I don't know what's below the cloudline, I don't think I can check. I'm feeling kind of depressed. Time goes quicker here I think. Not much happens in between.
Oh, yeah, almost forgot. I don't know where that "limerick" came from. It's not even in correct limerick form. I must have gotten hacked.
Anyway, I'll post when something happens. See y'all later.
