I made a button, through repeated work on a nightly basis for many months. I laid layer after layer of translucent red plastic resin on the area, which is more than a twenty feet long and eight feet wide. Six feet tall. Big red rectangle in the secondary practice field, the one where do ultimate frisbee.

All it needs is to be pressed. What are the oods?

Playing the Temporal Probabilities is like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Is what my great aunt says. The house always wins, and they’re setting fire to the house. Trapping all our mind energy into “what happens next?” and get you so distracted putting your all into it and they snatch it all up like a roach hotel and eat it. Only way to win is leave the table and not play the game at all.

So it sounds like I'd have a better chance of influencing Temporal Probability if I just started doing jobs for them on the app? I suppose there are rules about not betting on the outcomes you're directly influencing, right? Because if not that would be weird. Right?

@Maxon Interpreter's info is so out of date, they must have taken a TIME MACHINE to get here. To the future, that is.

Maybe it was that way back in the 1980s. But now it's all remote. Nobody goes into the office any more, and especially not the top brass.

There's even an app. So you can do it from your phone. You just wait for a temporal probability that needs to get nudged one way or another, and if you can do it you take the job. You get paid by the job. Most of them are easy, like "bump into this guy and spill your coffee on him" or "be on such and such a corner at such and such a time and offer directions to a woman in a blue skirt." I mean, those are easy ones, so you don't make much. Sometime they pay a super lot but, well, they're not always legal.

Temporal Probability Bases (Base I, Base VII, Base IX, etc.) are very clean. There are large surfaces to keep dust-free, angles where dust bunnies might accrue, tossed about in the high-powered filtered HVAC.

But you’re not supposed to notice any of that.

What you are supposed to notice are the screens, and the panels, and the sharp technicians in uniform. And the immense amount of power flowing through it.

Yeah I'd be interested in getting to this Temporal Probability Control Room @Olive Black. So you're saying we could sneak in and... set everything up just like we want it? Temporal Probability-wise? Because I know just how we ought to set it up....

For those of you that bother to come to class know, Temporal Probability is when the same time happens at two different points in time. This requires multiple perceptions of time.

So like... Is this on the math test? Can someone share the equation? I am really confused. What am I going to use this for outside of school? What even is it? Math is not my strong suit.

If you want to get the upper hand on temporal probability you've got to get to the control room. I had an internship there. Bringing coffee and stuff. I know where it is.

Standard protocol is that after an intern's time is up, they go back and undo your internship. Like it never happened. But when I was little and the doctor was supposed to give my sister and I the time chip, the doctor got distracted talking to my mom and they gave my sister both doses and I never got one. So when they flipped the undo it didn't take.

I can get us there, but once we're there what do we do?

Betting in the school's underground temporal futures market is really tricky. Sure, on one hand, you're up against precogs and sooth sayers and the like, but on the other hand you're up against the time-machine crews who are always looking to flip the script. Sometimes you'll lose a bet that you won two weeks ago.
