It's that time of the year.

The Cup had just ended and people are gearing up for a night of mischief.

Has anybody put up the tree yet?

I think people who move fast are indeed annoying.

When a person tries to move in a way that you wouldn't notice them, they are actually moving against particles of air. For a person to run a 100 meter dash in 1 second, one must run at 100 m/s. It creates a loud lingering sound due to the Doppler Effect as the runner hits the air around them. A wave of bumped air bumps with other air particles and cause the surrounding area to experience being blown away. What's worse is when the runners hit 377 m/s, which is the speed of sound. In this movement speed, the collision with air produces a sonic boom, a deafening shock wave. Show-offs. My cousin had the ability to move faster than sound. He's died when he ran faster than sound. When he collided with air, he broke his bones and the rest of his body exploded into tiny chunks of anthro-meat. We had to clean after him.

To move as fast as possible, you need a solid protection that can withstand the sonic boom. It has been suggested that thick metal with a parabolic shape could help reduce the impact due to the boom, as a flat one would curve on its own, creating a rather loud sound. Air Force pilots are asked to wear protective headsets to protect their ears. Maybe that's a start.

True. The Archmage and his contemporaries have been studying the World Trees ever since they were as young as sixteen, where a novice must choose a topic to study and a mage to work with. The study of the World Trees didn't begin with Brinkerhoff as it has always been the fascination of human kind ever since. Belief systems centered around great trees were the staple back then. The organized study of the trees, however, started during the Age of Alchemy, albeit misguided.

Bonn has been a center of magic trade in the modern era. It is the home of the Mandrake School of Magic. Although everybody can study anything, the Bonn school specializes in Nature Sculpting and Shape-shifting. Later on, the school would be known for any Nature-related magic.

Now, according to the journal of German Archmage E. A. Horowitz, Archmage Brinkerhoff chose to study the World Trees, great trees that support the planes of existence and exists in plain sight but we refuse to see it. Often mistaken as ordinary vines, the World Trees are symbols of humility and reverence for the natural order of things. On one fateful day, while studying for his final tests, Brinkerhoff felt minute fluctuations in magic emanating from a nearby world tree, taking the form of a humble cherry blossom. This event started a series of inquiry about the purpose of world trees and how the magic world can benefit from it, leading to the work cited above.

After Brinkerhoff died from World War II while helping magicians escape the Reinigungstag, a Nazi-organized purge. Horowitz became the next Archmage, succeeding Brinkerhoff while in exile. In a dream, Brinkerhoff revealed to the new Archmage that his death is "natural, according to the order of things" and asked the Circle not to retaliate. "It would soon end," he said. Later on, the German Circle would be criticized for its lack of action against the Holocaust. Yep, the Kabbalah diviners hate them.

So I was watching the television and when I switched to Paranormal Politics, the news headline was about the US Federal Bureau of Paranormal Activity shutting down.

Apparently, most of its employees were undocumented aliens and they come in and out of the country through more advanced means, such as spatial distortion and soul links.

This is not an isolated case though. All around the world, traveling mages are being held at buffer zones for deportation due to stricter policies against the free movement of workers working at the paranormal sector.

The Earth Magic Federation has released a statement concerning the meddling of the world's governments with international linkages and the free movement of personnel. Being careful not to provoke anyone important, the Federation expressed its concern. In my opinion, they should have just formed a virtual state and set-up embassies linked with portals.

I hope the world doesn't come together and hunt us all.

Let me just dig up something...let's see...

Here: a copy of the 1931 International Oblique Forestry Faire brochure. It says that there is indeed a ride called the 'Iggy Drop' and the description says it can give a "surprise of a lifetime." I'm not sure if Mr. Blinkerhoff is the archmage or the archmage's father. The ride and its environs were actually made with gigantic trees called redwood. World Trees, specifically the Yggdrasil (origin of the name "Iggy Drop") and its saplings, are guarded by the United Society of Elvenkind. We are all forbidden to tamper with the tree, which is why Blinkerhoff conducted his experiment while being watched by senior elf mages.

The Faire also include scrying booths, lucid massage parlors, rent-a-body, and other magical and scientific endeavors sanctioned by the Earth Magic Federation, Intergalactic Paranormal Affairs Agency, and the Interdimensional Link Agreement.

@Briar Rose, please get well soon. We saw you being carried into the building by two elves. Mrs. Vavavoom from the medical team said you have inhaled some gas while working on some experiment.

As always, please read all the relevant Material Safety Datasheets before performing any experiment. Remember to handle any sensitive gems with a gem cushion or pedestal.

Hello there! This is Jarvis from Timeline 5. Just now, I've received word that Jarvis from Timeline 4 has passed away due to starvation in a remote desert planet with the designation [redacted]. I still don't have any news regarding myself from Timeline 2 and 3.

I have just arrived from a trip in Portugal where my friends and I visited site with unusual psionic energy signatures. These sites most likely served as homes of magisters and junior practitioners of magic that were affected during the great Lisbon earthquake of 1755. These are small portals made of marble slabs that lead to pocket universes. While we do have regulations now about how long should pocket universes last, these ones were made to last as long as the marble doorways retain their form. If part of the doorway crumbles, the portal will close and everyone inside would get trapped. The magic association in Lisbon has made an ordinance preventing everyone from entering the portals due to the fragile nature of the marble slabs. There are stalls that sell refreshments near these sites. We saw a lemonade stand watching over a really big portal near [redacted] that people often mistake as [redacted].

(transmission error)

Hello there! I'm Jarvis from Timeline 5. I'm the only one available at the moment to respond to your question.

@uva_vulpis: This is not 'WikiLeaks' per se. I would not dare post classified documents unless I want the magic world equivalent of the Gestapo breathing down my neck. Security is tight.

@Crispy_Genie: I wonder if dogs can really understand anything from sniffing the World Tree. Binkerhoff states in his paper, I think on page 21, about the impossibility of detecting signals to and from the Trees using conventional methods of transmission. Note that the British have just begun research on RADAR. We don't know how Binkerhoff did his research since the Binkerhoff document has been heavily censored. However, we know that his attempt on intercepting information from the tree was successful because of a journal entry by one of our founders. Binkerhoff, a German mage, sneaked into Psychic High School using a route rarely patrolled by the Allied forces to meet with the elven delegation and the human mages. He then performed the experiment in front of them and it works as stated in the above document. If your dog can do it as you say, that would be great. That would mean that there are other ways to intercept World Trees.
