I need a buddy for Astral Travel club next thursday night. I'm a hitcher and got seperated from my last buddy in the Timestream, so I need another to get back. You'll get a note from my Astral coach that should be worth some extra-credit back here, and I promise we'll show you a real good time while you're back in my timeline. Saw a note from someone named Joe about needing an astral-travel buddy; I'm considering it, but I definitely would have to be back first thing the next morning, since my Transcendental Magick exam is Friday at (promptly! - you have to imagine a snippy, rather nasal voice bypassing your ears and stabbing straight into your cerebral cortex... that's Ms. Switchman ...and, yes, that's her real name) 11:30, and punctuality has never been my strong point. The offer seems interesting, though, and I could use a little time off (for good behavior? -- I don't know about that...). Haven't really cut loose since I've been here; the Burning Man ceremony was the last "social" thing I attended, and that was weeks ago. I left Joe a note, so we'll see if he gets in touch. I wonder when his timeline is, anyway... blue hair and spikes: maybe 1970's London or 1980's America? Either way, it should be fun.

On another note, I saw a flyer tring to recruit students for next semester's Necromancy class... it's a dying art...

Thanks to everybody who offered to buddy with me for my trip back home, but I've decided to go it alone. It's nothing personal, I just didn't want to make anybody risk their own return trip. The only safe way would be to anchor the silver cord, and even though a couple of you had done it in simulations I still didn't feel right about it.

So, the portal opens at midnight. Gonna make like a hair and split.

And thanks to Fruitbat and the guys in the woods for letting me crash in their fort. You guys rock!

Well, no fun trip for me... it all worked out for the best, though; I was up til 4am cramming for my Transcendental Magick exam, which I feel sure I passed with flying colors... literally! Part of the exam was to create a prismatic displacement field, which had the amusing effect of shifting the visible spectrum... in other words, we all turned blue! Except for that kid who was already blue; he turned orange!

Things are slowing down as we approach winter break; my new roommate moves in this weekend, but then she's off for a visit home over the holiday. I talked with her a little bit, and she seems nice enough; kinda quiet and a little distant, but I think she's got a lot on her mind right now.

I don't know what I'm going to do over the break... I don't really have anywhere to go, but I don't think we're allowed to stay in the dorms the whole time... Guess I better look into this, or I may find *myself* housed in the 4th dimension! Maybe I'll take a trip; I could deal with a little snowboarding excursion. Don't have much money, but since when has that stopped me?
